EIGHT DPL Alumni selected to MWL and FSL All-Star Game

EIGHT DPL ALUMNI SELECTED TO 2015 MIDWEST AND FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE ALL-STAR ROSTERS  In exciting news, eight Dominican Prospect League alumni have been selected to their respective league All-Star Games. In the Midwest League, Natanael Delgado (Burlington Bees) has hit to the tune of a .275/.314/.404 slash line with a .717 OPS. He has three homeruns, three triples, and seven doubles. Yairo Munoz (Beloit Snappers) has an impressive .278/.311/.439 slash line with a .750 OPS. Munoz has knocked out seven homeruns and has 31 RBI to go along with six stolen bases on the year. Felix Jorge (Cedar Rapids Kernals) has dominated the Midwest League, pitching to a 3-2 record, 2.62 ERA and a measly 0.98 WHIP. Who is Willy Adames?

By Scott Grauer SB Nation on Jul 31 2014 In the Rays‘ three team trade sending away David Price, they apparently acquired three players: infielder Nick Franklin, pitcher Drew Smyly, and infielder Willy Adames.  The first two are no longer prospects, but Adames surely is. In Baseball America’s mid-season update, he was ranked fifth in a thin Detroit farm system, and for all intents and purposes at this time, he was higher since two of the prospects ranked ahead of him were traded to Texas for Joakim Soria. Considering he was ranked 30th entering the season, it’s been a breakout season for the 18 year old.  He skipped right from the Dominican Summer League in 2013 to the Midwest League which probably should have been the first clue he was ready for a breakout year. … Read More
