2015 Futures Game Features two DPL Alumnus

The 2015 Futures Game will feature two of the most prolific players to be produced by the Dominican Prospect League. SS Raul Mondesi Jr. and CF Manuel Margot have distinguished themselves as impact players in their respective organizations, and have performed to earn themselves a trip to Cincinnati. EIGHT DPL Alumni selected to MWL and FSL All-Star Game

EIGHT DPL ALUMNI SELECTED TO 2015 MIDWEST AND FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE ALL-STAR ROSTERS  In exciting news, eight Dominican Prospect League alumni have been selected to their respective league All-Star Games. In the Midwest League, Natanael Delgado (Burlington Bees) has hit to the tune of a .275/.314/.404 slash line with a .717 OPS. He has three homeruns, three triples, and seven doubles. Yairo Munoz (Beloit Snappers) has an impressive .278/.311/.439 slash line with a .750 OPS. Munoz has knocked out seven homeruns and has 31 RBI to go along with six stolen bases on the year. Felix Jorge (Cedar Rapids Kernals) has dominated the Midwest League, pitching to a 3-2 record, 2.62 ERA and a measly 0.98 WHIP. DPL Alumni Selected to Futures All-Star Game

Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played on July 13 at Target Field in Minnesota. This is the 16th annual prospect extravaganza, with the best prospects in the game divided into World and United States teams, based on players’ birthplaces. The U.S. team has won the past four Futures Games and is 9-6 overall. The game will start at 5 p.m. Eastern and be broadcast on MLB Network and MLB.com as well as SiriusXM on XM channel 89 and Sirius channel 209. Baseball America works with Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com and the 30 teams to select the two 25-man rosters. Michael Feliz selected to NY-Penn League All-Star Game

  DPL Alumni Michael Feliz has been selected to the 2013 New York-Penn League All-Star game. Feliz  is 3-2 with a league leading 1.39 ERA. He has 55 strikeouts in 45.1 innings, while his WHIP of 0.94 places him sixth in the league. As a starter, Feliz has an ERA of 1.13, and has gone at least five innings in each of his six starts. Feliz, who is just 19 years old, was signed by the Houston Astros as a non-drafted free agent back in May of 2010 while playing in the Dominican Prospect League. Feliz is a power pitcher who can light up a radar gun in the high 90´s with a devastating change-up as well as hard spinning curveball and slider.… Read More

DePaula and Montero at MLB Futures Game

Rafael De Paula the Yankees‘ lone representative in the Futures Game, Rafael De Paula represented the World Team. He came into the game in the fifth inning and had a mixed performance. He threw 10 of his 16 pitches for strikes and struck out Twins prospect Bryan Buxton, Baseball America’s top prospect in baseball, but also gave up a hit up the middle and hit a batter. He then got what should have been a double play, but the throw to first was wide. De Paula regrouped and got the next batter to fly out. Click picture for video!
