  • Born: San Cristobal, Dominican Republic
  • Position: CF Age: 19 DOB: 9/28/1994 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 5’11” Weight: 170 lb

Margot, who was the best overall athlete in the 2011 international market, and is now the best overall athlete in the Boston Redsox organization, has lived up to his expectations. His defense has drawn comparisons to the toolsy Red Sox center fielder, Mookie Betts. Margot reads the ball well off the bat, covers a tremendous amount of ground. His speed plays well on the bases as well, already having swiped 25 bases this season.

Scouts love Margot’s quick hands, which allow him to make a ton of contact. In 181 AB’s in the Carolina League, Margot struck out a total 15 times. Although he is a bit undersized, Margot shows deceptive power, which should produce double-digit home runs at the Big League level. He is presently a line drive hitter, with a polished approach and a fluid swing that projects him to be a first division player, contributing at the big league level.

The Dominican Prospect League congratulates both Raul Mondesi and Manuel Margot for their continuous development and hard work! Felicidades!
