Batista has a fruitful baseball program and has produced some of the DPL’s top players on a yearly basis; in 2010 OF-Willy Garcia-PIT, 2011 3B-Angel Yente Jimenez-SEA, and this years notable signing of OF-Gustavo Cabrera-SFG.

Christian Batista

Pelier played in the DPL for a second season, he was a DPL All-Star in 2011 and 2012. He was past over during the 2012 July 2nd signing period, but stayed focused to make an impact at the start of the DPL season as he was eager to start his professional career.  Neivi is a hard nose player with game instincts, he’s a natural born hitter who battles every at bat with consistent solid contact. He has raw power and shows signs that average game power will come with development. Defensively Pelier is an average fielder with plus arm strength, his primary position is at 3B but has the ability and tools to be a solid right fielder.

Washington Nationals International director Johnny Dipuglia, ” We’re happy to have acquired Pelier, we’ve evaluated him over a year, we love the bat and athletic physical maturity he brings to the organization. He’s a corner guy with a plus arm and power potential. Hopefully he develops into the impact player we know he can be.” The Nats signed Pelier to a $225,000.00 contract. The contract is pending MLB approval.

Congratulations to the Washington Nationals, Chrsitian “Niche” Batista and the Pelier family!
