Kelvin Esteves signs with the Atlanta Braves

Kelvin Esteves is 6’1″, 170lb from Cotui, Dominican Republic. Kelvin is represented by Carlos Paulino and trains in Bani on the southern region of the island. He played a limited amount of time in the Dominican Prospect League, but while he was there he took full advantage of the time and hit his way into the 2012 DPL All-Star Game. Kelvin’s tools are solid: he’s a 6.8 runner, shows power projection and arm strength. He’s some what of a free swinger but he gets good extension and has bat speed. At times his bat can get long but he makes frequent solid contact and the balls jump off his bat. Defensively Kelvin has enough arm strength to stick at the position though his hands are a question mark and he may be better suited in the outfield. The Braves reached an agreement with Kelvin Esteves for $300,000.00.

Congratulations to the Atlanta Braves, Carlos Paulino and the Esteves family.
