Dominican Prospect League and Baseball Factory Team Up for Inaugural Elite Underclass International Series
SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Brian Mejia and Ulises Cabrera, Founders of the Dominican Prospect League (DPL), announced today that it has organized a new International Amateur Baseball Tournament Series, taking place July 30 to August 2, 2017 at Silver Cross Field near Chicago, Illinois. This international series will be called the “Dominican Prospect League Elite Underclass International Series, powered by Baseball Factory,” and will feature top amateur baseball players from the Dominican Prospect League playing with top amateur players from the United States. The Dominican Prospect League has been the world leader in placing top amateur international prospects with MLB teams.
Baseball Factory, the leader in scouting and player development, will work with the Dominican Prospect League to help identify top players from the United States to participate in the event.
This will be the first time that the DPL Elite Team will play against elite USA players. This event provides an unprecedented opportunity for professional scouts to evaluate a large group of the premier young baseball players from Latin America and the United States competing against one another in game action. Players will also participate in an on-field workout to showcase their skills. This International Series will begin the day after the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game, powered by Baseball Factory.
The international roster will be comprised of 36 amateur position players from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama, and the Bahamas that will be some of the most sought after international prospects, once they become eligible on July 2, 2018 or 2019. Players from the United States will be comprised of elite High School athletes from across the United States.
