Garver enjoys career night in 1st start off DL

In his first start since suffering a concussion on a foul tip while catching on Sept. 12, Mitch Garver helped alleviate any concerns about his injury with a career night at the plate against the White Sox. Berrios hits 200-K mark, puts stamp on his ’18

Two young starting pitchers provided bright glimpses of the future for the White Sox and Twins. Minnesota's Jose Berrios put a stamp on his 2018 campaign by fanning nine over seven innings of one-run ball, ending his season with 202 strikeouts. Chicago's Reynaldo Lopez found ways out of trouble for most of the day in a quality start, allowing two runs over six innings while striking out five. Lopez took a tough-luck loss after loading the bases in the sixth and allowing a go-ahead sac fly to Willians Astudillo. Twins power past Tigers as Field hits 2 homers

Johnny Field recorded his first multihomer game of his career, Jorge Polanco drove in three runs and Tyler Austin connected on a two-run homer in the Twins' victory over the Tigers on Wednesday night at Target Field.
